Drone Footage Of Cornwall – Surfing & Sailing

We had the pleasure of a weekend escape to Cornwall last week, boy was it overdue. Just the second time getting down there this year we had a lot of catching up to do.

It was my sisters birthday weekend and on the Saturday we headed to the beach to take advantage of the surf. It was a 15mph offshore wind and surf building from 2 to 4 ft. One could describe it as classic.

It was the first time I’d used the drone in months, I use the DJI Phantom 3 Advanced and after a quick firmware update it was out of the box and flying above the beach.

A lot of the time I just go for a quick fly around, snap some shots in the hope to throw some video together at the end of it. Moving forward I’m going to be far more tactical about the shots I take, how they’re taken and when as I’d like the finished product to be something rather special.

Saturday evening Emily and I were treated to an amazing feast of Greek food, the parents have recently come back from a three week trip out there and it’s fair to say fully immersed themselves in the culture.

On Sunday the forecast was bleugh, unusually instead of a good forecast turn bad, the opposite happened and we made our way to the boat. We came across a friend of ours sailing out of Falmouth and again put the drone up to get some shots.

Here is a summary of the short but lovely weekend for you to enjoy.

Until next time, ciao.
